The site

A midstream operator running compression on a multi-well pad, with inlet gas rich enough that fuel quality swung with the season. Engine derating and the cost of hauling liquids off site were both getting harder to plan around.

What changed

A skid-mounted MaCH4 unit was installed inline ahead of the engines, taking heavier hydrocarbons out of the fuel stream and stabilising BTU before combustion. No refrigeration, no methanol, and no change to the existing pad layout.

The result

Measured across a full operating season:

  • 2 wks — Time to Commission
  • $272K — NGLs Recovered

Recovered liquids are trucked as a saleable product rather than burned as fuel, so the same volume of gas now shows up on two lines of the operator’s books instead of one.
